MAYDAY MAYDAY!! LEGO Ulysses Space Probe Goes From Available to Unavailable

Hey guys! The LEGO Ulysses Space Probe was supposed to become available as of April 14, 2021 after its delay in releasing on April 1, 2021. However, it was ‘out of stock’ pretty quick, not to mention the numerous errors the site encountered with the Terms of Service pop up message that people received with no further action and the Rewards site maintenance page others received. This left many VIP customers quite upset…for good reason!

Since there were a few lucky VIP fans to get their hands on the LEGO Ulysses Space Probe, it has now been listed online for some pretty ridiculous prices. What was worth $12 is now being sold for $200-$700! I read through a lot of comments on various sites and if LEGO fans weren’t happy with the VIP Rewards program prior to today, they surely aren’t happy now. It seems to be “the last straw” for most. This just means that customers will start making their purchases elsewhere. What’s the point of collecting VIP points if you can’t use them on the things you really want?

Many fans went straight to social media to express their concerns. Others went straight to LEGO customer service. Apparently, LEGO was listening and released this message:

“We’re very sorry about your experience with our current VIP promo. We do our best to make sure items like this one are available to as many LEGO® fans as possible, and we know how disappointing it can be when you can’t get the LEGO set that you want. Listening to our fans helps us get better, so thanks for letting us know we got it wrong this time. We’re taking a very close look to see what wasn’t quite right, and I’ve shared your comments with the correct team so we can do better in the future.“

This is certainly bad timing for LEGO, as it was just announced “The Most Reputable Company In The World”. You can revisit that post HERE.

Did you manage to get a Ulysses Space Probe? Or did you try and obtain one? Would love to know your thoughts on this whole debacle. Comment below!

Happy LEGO Building!
