Hey guys! Yesterday, LEGO revealed one of the greatest sets the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Icons – Collectors Edition 76391. Check out all the set details and official photos HERE. Unfortunately, a mistake has been spotted on the Hogwarts Crest writing. The phrase on the crest of the LEGO set currently reads “Draco dormiens nunquam titillandos”, but the last word should be spelled “titillandus” (-us, NOT -os). The Harry Potter phrase translates into “Never tickle a sleeping dragon”
www.quora.com: “The motto of Scotland translates from the Latin as “Nobody touches me and gets away with it” and the motto of Clan Chattan translates from the Scots as “Don’t touch the cat unless you’re wearing a gauntlet”, so “Never tickle a sleeping dragon” is just a wizarding spin on the same theme.“
CORRECT HOGWARTS CREST
INNCORRECT LEGO HOGWARTS CREST
brickfinder.net: “While I’m sure it was an honest mistake, I can’t help but wonder this managed to slip through the stringent quality checks that LEGO products are always put through. Not to mention that this set is in collaboration with an IP (Intellectual Property) partner.”
brickfanatics.com: “Whilst this minor spelling error likely won’t bother those less familiar with the franchise, dedicated wizards and witches may struggle to overlook the error with a purchase of the £229.99 / $249.99 / €249.99 set and its 3,010 pieces.”
