CANADIAN LEGO IDEA: Reaches 10,000 Supporters!

Hey guys! Thought this post would be fitting, since were a Canadian site! “Via Rail Canada – The Canadian” design has made it into the first review round in 2021 in LEGO Ideas.

The Canadian LEGO fan, NickLafreniere1, has had a few LEGO Ideas, but his design of the “Via Rail Canada – The Canadian” has reached 10,000 supporters and will now be considered by the LEGO designers in order to move into production.

The Via Rail Canada train is one of the worlds largest train routes that started operating in 1950. It is a passenger train that runs from Toronto, Ontario to Vancouver, British Columbia, which takes 5 days. The track runs a length of 12,500 kilometres (7,800 miles) across eight Canadian provinces. The train operates over 475 trains per week over 19 routes.

The LEGO Idea design consists of a EMD F40PH-2D locomotive, a baggage car, Chateau sleeper car and Skyline dome car. A total of 2,312 parts. Each of the train cars have fully functional interiors. The train measures 126 cm long, 5 cm wide, 10 cm tall. Compatible with the Powered UP 88009 Hub, 88001 Train Motor, 88005 Lights, and the Powered Up app.
