Hey guys! Today, March 25, 2021, LEGO officially announced LEGO Star Wars Imperial Probe Droid 75306. Within the product video you can see the top of a new R2-D2 set!

This new set is built very differently then what was released back in 2012, the R2-D2 10225.
As you can see, this new R2-D2 has a much more smoothed out appearance, which confirms that this is definitely a teaser put out by LEGO for a new set releasing soon. There were rumours back in January that we might see an updated version of that classic UCS set. However, this will apparently not be a set from the Ultimate Collector Series, but will be an exclusive D2C set.
Considering ‘May the Fourth’ is right around the corner, the timing of this isn’t at all surprising. LEGO has not confirmed the exact details, but stonewars.de suggests that this set will consist of 2314 parts.
